Your Fish Head

Hi! Nice to meet you! I'm your designated Fish Head!

It's February 2010, and I have been living in Bergen, Norway, for exactly 6 months. I figured it's time to do something with this blog, and as any ego-centric Norwegian, I'm starting with the About Me page, or in this case; Your Designated Fish Head.

Fish Head: Decomposition
My name's Vibeke, but call me Fish Head. I was born in 1981, and spent the first 15 years on my life on a small island on the west cost of Norway, or "Fjord Norway" if you want it to sound romantic. My father worked in the Norwegian Oil industry, and my mother worked for the municipality. I have two sisters, both older than I, and two grandparents who I also grew up around. The other two grandparents are irrelevant to the outcome of this particular fish head, but are very sweet, intelligent and rather cool.

I left home at age 16, and on my 19th summer I went even further away by moving abroad for a total of 9 years. I got a bachelor's degree in economics, and worked as a TV producer, radio producer, radio DJ, and head of productions at the coolest radio station in the world. I sure do love radio, and music.

After 7 years, a thing or two fell apart, and a year later I left for the US. I got married to an amazing man, and he loves me enough to move back home to Norway with me.

I had never experienced life as an adult in Norway, as I left Norway straight out of high school. During my time away, friends and relatives have painted an amazingly pretty picture of this country of opposite extremes, and they managed to convince me to move back. And I even brought my husband!

This blog is about how I'm experiencing living in Norway as a citizen expat. Norway to a Norwegian foreigner, if you will. And then especially Bergen.

I hope you enjoy the reading, and if you have any questions; get in touch. I don't mind helping a fellow "immigrant".
